Business Birthday Cards – Sometimes They Come with a Surprise Inside!

I think we all know those people who, whenever their birthday comes around, insist they don’t care if anyone remembers or not. They always say they’d rather forget their birthday when they hit a certain age. Well, I’m not one of them. I love getting birthday cards – and business birthday cards are some of the best.

I don’t have a lot of credit cards, but I am a sucker for opening a new one every time my daughter and I are shopping. Some of the new stores offer a nice premium for opening the card and then, of course, you get on their mailing list. Lots of coupons and junk mail come my way, but then so does a birthday card and guess what’s inside it – a coupon, just for me, just because it’s my birthday. These personalized birthday cards, complete with the company name, logo, address, online ordering option – everything to make shopping easy – are always welcome in my house.

It’s amazing how many companies are on the band wagon for sending personalized birthday cards. My mom, a big fan of our local casinos, gets birthday cards from each one of the many places where she has left a deposit over the years. They each include a little “freebie” and by taking advantage of each one of them, an elderly woman is having a great time, and each of the casinos benefits from her visits.

One of our local restaurants even has a birthday club. So on your birthday, you get a personalized birthday card and a coupon for your birthday meal on the house. Of course, people don’t usually dine alone for their birthday, so the restaurant benefits by giving away one free meal, but getting several paid meals as a result of the birthday celebration.

I’m sure from the sender’s point of view, it’s a smart business decision to make sure your company’s name pops up in the customer or client’s mind, but it’s also a nice surprise from the receiver’s point of view for them to know someone remembered their special day. If you ask me, that makes sending personalized birthday cards a “win – win” situation.

25 Years of Company Christmas Cards – Living it and Loving it

Yes, 25 years of working for The Gallery Collection, the industry leader for high quality company Christmas cards! Starting back in 1986, as a temporary customer service representative, I quickly learned what the words quality and customer service meant at their very best. Here was a company who placed customers and employees on their priority list. Treat everyone well and show appreciation for everyone seemed to be the basis for our company culture. Our exquisite line of business Christmas cards has always been a display of pride for those who make, sell and personalize them as well as for those who buy them.

How exciting each year to see the new designs that are being added to the line! I’m sure our customers feel the same way when they receive the first catalog mailing of the year or check out the website that exhibits all of our cards. Company Christmas cards provide an inexpensive yet thoughtful way of showing employees and clients your appreciation. I know my whole family is delighted each year when we open up our very own personal card signed by our entire executive team. Sometimes it’s a tranquil wooded snow scene like “Winter Sparkle Holiday card” or perhaps a more traditional design such as our “Home for the Holidays Card”.

I think that 25 years at the same company says a lot in itself. Quality of product, superb customer service, a unique, diversified, exceptional line of  holiday cards as well as constant displays of appreciation to employees have kept me happily captive. Living it and Loving it, I am certain that when you send a Gallery Collection business Christmas card to your employee or client or vendor that they will feel that same appreciation.

Get Well Cards Can Brighten Someone’s Day

While I wouldn’t call myself clumsy, I am probably not the most stable person out there.  A couple of sprained ankles and wrists and a hospital visit here or there can attest to that.  Luckily, I have never had an injury that I couldn’t laugh about after a few days.  This was the case, at least, until last winter.  Let me back track a bit here to set the scenario for what actually happened.  After a few months of being out of work, I finally found myself a great job at a great company.  I was so happy and things really could not be any better.  Then came the ice storm only one month into my new job.  You have to understand that a small patch of ice to someone like me is a recipe for disaster, so when the whole ground was covered by ice, I knew I was in trouble.  I couldn’t stay home, though.  I was only at my job for two weeks and I couldn’t miss a day so soon, especially when the roads looked clear.  I walked slowly down my steps, holding onto the railing for dear life and could you believe it, I actually made it safely to the bottom.  I think this is where my confidence got a little high because on my third step away from the steps, I found myself in the air, horizontal, and falling fast.  The next thing I knew, I was in the hospital with a cast on my right arm.  A few days passed and my work said it was fine and to take my time feeling better, but I couldn’t help being nervous about missing so many days so soon into my new job.  All my fears subsided, however, when I received a packet of get well cards from everyone at my company.  Just knowing that they cared and didn’t forget about the new employee meant the world to me.

I spent a good hour reading through all the messages in my get well cards.  Nothing could have brightened my day any more than this.  People I didn’t even know yet at the company were wishing me well.  The card really gave me the strength to get through the next few days and until I was able to return to work.  The first thing I did when I got back was let everyone know how the company get well cards helped to get me through my injury.   They meant more to me than they could ever understand.

Design 295AR – Still Life: Vase with Oleanders and Books

Vincent Van Gogh painted this breathtaking oil on canvas in 1888 and over 100 years later it is still brilliant. Design 295AR – Still Life: Vase with Oleanders and Books, takes this masterpiece and creates stunning business greeting cards. There is no sentiment on the front of the card so it has a multitude of uses; thank you, sympathy, get well or birthday. It can also be used as a general purpose note card, one that anybody would be happy to receive.

The appeal of Design 295AR lies in the graceful beauty and serenity of the oleanders. It is a greeting card so calming and pleasant to look at that you may want to frame it and keep it on display the whole year through.

Does Sending Greeting Cards in Times of Tragedy Really Make a Difference?

When I first heard about the terrible earthquake and tsunami that struck Japan on March 10, 2011 I had tears in my eyes thinking of the terrible devastation and the thousands of people who surely lost their lives.

Working in the greeting card business I am surrounded each day by Christmas Cards, Birthday Cards, Get Well, Thinking of You and many other types of cards. But what type of card would provide comfort to someone who is surrounded by such tragedy? As the news stories grew grimmer, greeting cards started to seem…well hardly a necessity. It honestly got me thinking about how I spend my time working at a greeting card company…do greeting cards really serve a purpose? A legitimate question I think when you consider how much of our lives, how much of our time is actually spent on and at work. Was I really spending my life’s work on something worthwhile?

So I thought further and realized that greeting cards were really all about connecting with other people. It differs from any other type of communication when you really think about it. You might be giving it to someone sitting as close as the cubicle next to you or sending it to someone thousands of miles away. Unlike an email, letter, text or phone call, a greeting card always has a cover with a design or photo or some decorative text on it. It can feature something funny, touching or beautiful.  It is designed to invoke some kind of reaction or emotion upon receiving it. The sentiment inside is often chosen with care and conveying a certain message or thought. Many of us who might struggle to find just the right words to say, can find a greeting cards that appropriately expresses our thoughts. Yet, what would I say to someone in Japan in a greeting card? How does getting a greeting card from someone in the States even matter under the circumstances?

I actually think it could matter a lot. It is a way to show emotional support even from a complete stranger half way across the world. With an opportunity to write your own personal message it can bring hope, love and prayers to someone who has suffered so much loss. It could be one of the only bright spots in someone’s day. It carries with it the potential to be the only reason someone has to smile that day…perhaps even for the first time in a long while. I don’t happen to think that is any small thing. It just might remind them that beyond the destruction there still exists a world, one that truly cares about the fate of these unfortunate people. It has the power to connect one human being to another.

I remember the many sympathy cards we received after my father’s untimely death. I read each and every one – some of them more than once. I was continually surprised and amazed how we heard from people who we had not been in touch with for years, yet who dearly remembered my beloved father. Some wrote a brief funny little story, others simply remembered him fondly and expressed their deep regret at our loss. During such a dark and difficult time in my life, those sympathy cards brought real comfort and did so in a way that I could handle. I had the luxury of reading them in private and on my own time table, when I was ready to do so.

I think it was then that I realized that a greeting card can say a lot to the recipient but it can also speak volumes about the thoughtfulness of the sender. And so now, many years later and after some serious reflection, I have decided that I am, indeed, doing something worthwhile with my time. In fact, right now I’m feeling pretty good about what I do, but much more importantly, what greeting cards can do to others when selected and sent with real thought.

So yes, I do believe greeting cards really can make a difference…even in troubled times.

Merry Christmas Cards Help Make the Season Bright

Every year the vast majority of us struggle to find the perfect Christmas cards to send out for the holidays. It can be a difficult decision. I personally like to send out Merry Christmas cards to all of the people on my holiday card list.

Personalized Christmas cards should be reflective of the person or company that is sending them. I am a Merry Christmas person all the way. I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and I sing Christmas carols. I think it’s great to send out cards that show people what you celebrate, and that you are also wishing them a merry and joyous time of year.

Season’s Greetings cards are very popular, and I certainly understand why. They cover all the bases for your holiday needs. The holiday season truly is for everyone, no matter what you celebrate. It’s all about the joy and the spirit of the season…whether you celebrate Christmas, or Hanukkah, or just enjoy the general feeling of the time of year. But don’t be afraid to send a specific card. It’s the meaning of your Christmas cards that is the most important thing this time of year.

If you celebrate Christmas you can share that with everyone. Even if people don’t celebrate the same holiday, the shared spirit of goodwill is apparent in your Christmas cards and the thought that you put in to sending them. I certainly don’t mind getting cards from people of all different faiths and beliefs. I’m pleased that friends and co-workers have thought of me during the holidays and wish me well. Every card I receive is a Christmas card to me. The joy I get in both giving and receiving cards is immeasurable.

So next time you are considering what to do for your personalized Christmas cards, feel free to wish everyone a Merry Christmas! Remember, it’s the thought that counts!

Eco-Friendly Holiday Cards and Lessons Learned

I consider myself a fairly open-minded person and I also love to learn new things. I remember so many times being in school and learning the lesson for the day and having a light bulb go off in my head as I finally caught on to the concept that my teacher was trying to get across. I see it now in my own children’s faces when they finally get something that I am trying to teach them.

The reason I mention this is because I recently had another light bulb shine bright in my head when I went to order my Christmas cards. It finally occurred to me that I can make a difference in the environment with the purchases I make. So for the first time this year, I am choosing environmentally friendly holiday cards to send to my friends and family. I know there are still a lot of things that I can do in my daily life to be more environmentally friendly but I can honestly say that I do think about the environment and make conscious decisions to help protect it for my myself, my children, and my children’s children. By choosing products that are made using eco-friendly methods, I can make a difference. The Gallery Collection offers many Christmas cards made from wind power as well as recycled cards and also FSC certified energy sources.

I always enjoy sending my greeting cards during the Christmas season but this year, I feel really good about sending environmentally friendly cards. And now I’m off to see what other purchases I can make that will help protect Mother Earth. Any excuse for some more shopping!
