Personalized Christmas Cards Help you Spread Holiday Cheer

I went to the post office the other day with my personalized Christmas cards in hand to purchase my stamps. Everyone else finally got around to doing their holiday cards too because the line was rather long. The woman in front of me made her way to the front desk and asked the clerk for some stamps. The clerk said “No problem, what denomination?” The woman exclaimed, “My goodness, has it really come to this?” The clerk was quite puzzled but asked again, “What denomination?” The woman said, “Well, I have 30 Catholic, 15 Baptist, 12 Jewish, and 14 Presbyterian.”

OK, so I was simply trying to tell my corny joke, but the point is some people do give a lot of thought to the recipients of their Christmas cards, as well they should. We all want to be sensitive to the fact that different people celebrate (or in some cases, don’t celebrate) different seasons and holidays. You certainly don’t mean to offend anyone but you do want spread some cheer and joy during the holidays (just don’t spread your fruitcakes, please!). Don’t worry so much about it and just send Christmas cards that suit your taste and help you spread that joy. My company has a lot to choose from including holiday cards depicting ornaments, trees, winter scenes, masterpieces, wildlife and patriotic designs. But I have to say, I am partial to the lighter side of things such as design 206CS – Merry Christmas from All of Us or 496CS – Sparkle Bear Greetings. Who could possibly be offended by this polar bear having a ball while rolling around in the snow! How fun!

Choose what greeting cards you prefer and I will try to refrain from making more bad jokes (but I won’t make any promises).

Merry Christmas Cards that Evoke Feelings of Holiday Warmth

Design #683CX, Fireside Greetings Merry Christmas Card, is an understated Merry Christmas cards design. It is done on cream colored stock with the appearance of water colors. The fireplace mantle is topped with lit candles and a pine garland with small holly berries. The front of the fireplace is donned with well placed red and green stockings waiting to be filled with goodies and a pine wreath with a large red bow. The fire is glowing inside the fireplace giving off a feeling of holiday warmth. Each design element is further outlined in gold foil, which makes them stand out nicely. Fireplaces are the center of the living room, or any room for that matter, and as such they draw families around. Can’t you just picture a lit fireplace with the family all around opening their presents on Christmas morning? Now there is a perfect holiday picture.

Design #517CW, Frosted Pinecones Merry Christmas Card, is a very bold design done on white shiny paper stock. The image looks so real that it appears more like a photograph than a painting. The design features a close up shot of a pine tree accompanied by a red ball ornament and tufts of snow.

I really love this Christmas card. You can’t look at it without thinking of the holidays. When looking at this design, it reminds me of holiday trips my family use to take to pick out our Christmas tree. My brother and I would run through the pine tree farm looking for just the right one. When we found it my father would take a shovel and dig out the tree. It was usually covered in snow and was still bearing its beautiful pine cones. The scent of pine would waft through the rooms making the house smell wonderful. After the holidays, we would plant our tree somewhere in the yard.

Corporate Christmas Cards aren’t the Only Things that Make Christmas Special

It was Christmas Eve and I was driving home from a business trip. As I was driving along a dimly lit highway, I saw a billboard for an electronic store. It read “Make this Christmas Special.” After seeing that, my mind started to wander. The same question kept popping in my head – “What makes Christmas so special to me?”

Is it the various different lights and decorations that people put up to jazz up their homes?
While these are nice, I was never one for decorations.

Is it receiving corporate Christmas cards at work? These Christmas cards always seemed to lift my spirits, but I don’t think they are the reason either.

Is it the warm apple pie or drinking eggnog? I don’t think this was it, as I don’t like the taste of either of these holiday classics.

Is it the holiday music on the radio? While I do like Christmas music, there is only so much a person can take.

Is it the chill in the air or snow on the ground? I’ve always been a warm weather person, so I don’t think cold weather gives my holiday spirit much of a boost.

Perhaps it is the thrill of shopping for gifts and surprising my loved ones? While I love to surprise people, sometimes the stress of shopping far outweighs the reaction you get.

As my mind continued to wander, I slowly pulled into my driveway. I was gathering my bags when I noticed my wife peeking out the front window (she always gets nervous and anxious when I travel). I stopped in my tracks and recalled the question I was pondering just a few minutes ago in the car. I recognized that it wasn’t the food, the business Christmas cards, or even the gifts that made Christmas so special. It’s spending time with the people you love.

Design #825CS, Season’s Greetings Snowflake Card, is also an eye-catching card. At first glance you would think that it is just a very ornate silver snowflake. But take a closer look at the snowflake in the center of the card and you will see that within the snowflake the words “Season’s Greetings” are shining back at you at every turn…a very unique idea! The sparkling silver foil on the deep, almost midnight blue background is quite dazzling. Again this card is not for everyone. So if you don’t want to stand out but would rather have your holiday cards blend in with all the other business Christmas cards your clients and customers will receive, this card is not for you.

“The truth will set you free.” So what, you ask, has this to do with business Christmas cards? The truth is, we are all so up to our eyeballs and eardrums in advertising everywhere we turn that we tend to simply tune it out and discount the lofty claims. I often used to listen to the radio. Now I carry my own commercial-free music with me, room-to-room, house to car to office. I do this so I won’t be harassed with advertising! I rarely watch television anymore, direct from the station…too many commercials. Have you tried changing the channel during the commercial? You get more commercials, maybe even the same one on every channel. I now record shows, just so I can skip commercials. All of this, akin to computer spam, is avoided and filtered out.

So, for goodness’ sake, how do I reach out to my customers?! The truth? The old-fashion way. The nice way. The friendly, neighborly way. During the year, I stay in touch using cards that say Happy Birthday, thinking of you cards, and when warranted get well or congratulations cards. Any reason, however random, will do, to keep myself and my business name in front of clients in a positive and cordial way. I think this habit also reflects our company ethic: to deliver the meat and not just the sizzle. I know it pays off in client loyalty and perhaps as a side effect of those neighborly greeting cards, in the mutually friendly and pleasant way we interact while conducting business.
