Being Creative with Personalized Christmas Cards

There is nothing like receiving personalized Christmas cards around the holiday season. Stunning images of peace, happiness, and the good-old Christmas tree all talking to me and saying, “It’s about time to receive some presents.” Maybe they tell you, “Time to buy some gifts for others,” but to each his own.

Now it’s time to hang them all over my apartment, up and down the doorway to the front hall…covering every inch I can spare much like the walls covered in a Houlihan’s or TGIFriday’s with various trinkets. Only my trinkets are in the form of greeting cards, expressions of holiday greetings on display for the whole world to see…or whoever shows up at my place.

Now the Christmas season is over. No more presents to open. No more eggnog to drink. Oh look, here’s my trophy wall of personalized Christmas cards. Now seems to me this is just a waste, throwing them out with no thought of what else can be done with them. So I’m thinking to myself over and over, “What do I do with these greeting cards?”

I sip my coffee and then there it is, a spectacular idea literally staring me in the face. Take your empty coffee can, wash it out, dry it, and let the fun begin. Pick up a spray paint can of whatever color you think will look good as a base and paint the can. Then go over to your Christmas cards and pull them off the wall carefully; I know that’s hard because we always pull them off so quick and to the point.

Now cut out those beautiful images of Christmas trees and snowmen and swirly holiday greetings and glue them to the outside of the spray painted can. After collaging the images to the outside of the can, cover the can with a clear glue or a clear-drying finish to protect your masterpiece. Let it dry, and there you have it – a candy dish for next year. And you actually did something creative with your time while finding a way to reuse all of those old holiday cards.

Thanksgiving Cards Help to Celebrate our Freedom

Thanksgiving cards are a lot like Independence Day flags – joyful means of celebrating and sharing an All-American holiday! On the Fourth of July, we rejoice in our freedom to hold opposing political viewpoints while living together in relative peace. On Thanksgiving, we join in gratitude for the many blessings we Americans enjoy, regardless of (and perhaps because of) our differing ethnic backgrounds and religious beliefs.

While both holidays are usually occasions for festive parades and the eating of traditional foods, July 4th tends to take people outside of their homes to picnics and fireworks displays, where we share in a collective camaraderie. Thanksgiving Day, however, tends to find us gathered inside of homes, a bit more insulated from our fellow countrymen. Sending business greeting cards at Thanksgiving provides a warm and personal way of reaching out to clients and colleagues, a way to say, “I’m happy to be here and grateful that you’re here with me.”

For business associates, we can pause to share our gratitude for the freedom that allows us to make a living and to preserve our way of life. Making this gesture by sending business holiday greeting cards at Thanksgiving is truly appropriate and your message is received at a time when your recipients may be more inclined to notice and reflect upon your cooperative relationship with them. We may not be out on the street, waving a flag, but we can be in the offices and homes of our business associates and friends, extending a celebratory hand in gratitude and mutual thanks.

Design #577CW – Thanksgiving Glow Greeting Card

In design #577CW, Thanksgiving Glow Greeting Card, Sunlight glistening on the dewy leaves lends a sparkle to the crisp autumn air. I love the way the bright dew drops contrast against the welcoming sun and warm brown tree and border. A stroll in the park after a big Thanksgiving dinner is just the ticket for a perfect ending to the festivities. I am also amazed at the way the dark and light are played against each other. What one might envision as a somber color is transformed into dignified accompaniment to the glorious burst of color portrayed in the sparkling leaves and sun filled earth beneath them.

Even Mice Like Business Christmas Cards

Last year, I mailed my business Christmas cards on December 28. Procrastination has always been my downfall but I was wholeheartedly determined to not let that happen again this year! I purchased my business holiday cards in September (at a great discount, I might add). I opened the box, reviewed my order and was very pleased with myself and my pro-activeness. After looking at my holiday cards, I put them back in their box and decided it was a good idea to put them in a back corner in the storage room until I needed to use them.

Many months passed but I still felt confident that I would be ahead of the game this year. I prepared my holiday cards mailing list and updated everyone’s addresses in October. November rolled around, Thanksgiving seemed to happen entirely too early this year, and then all of a sudden it was December. When I finally decided to get started with addressing the envelopes, I couldn’t find the box. Eventually I noticed it in another corner of the storage room. I pulled several heavy boxes off the top and then noticed something else was awry – two of the box corners were completely chewed through. I carefully pulled back the covers of the box and immediately confirmed my suspicions – a mouse and several of its cohorts had decided to make a home out of my box of business holiday cards.

After a slight panic attack (and the donning of some sanitary white rubber gloves), I came to the realization that most of the cards were salvageable. I did have to place a last minute order of 25 more personalized holiday cards but received them in a matter of days so I was still able to get my holiday cards out on time. I am already looking forward to ordering my cards early again next year to save some last minute headache! Let’s just hope the mouse problem resolves itself by then.

Design #830CX, Dazzling Christmas Wreath Card, is a Merry Christmas card that features a very sophisticated, abstract depiction of a wreath. It is a beautiful shade of red with gold ribbons and iridescent snow flakes running down one side. On the right side of this card are the words “Merry Christmas.” This particular design is very tasteful and elegant.

If I were sending this card, I would most likely send it to co-workers as opposed to family members. I’m not quite sure why, except in my opinion it gives a more corporate feeling. Are you thinking of going green? This is a great card to start with because it is made from recycled paper. It would also be an elegant touch to sign this card with a gold gel pen, really making your holiday wishes complete.

Without Personalized Christmas Cards it just Wouldn’t be the Same

What if there was no such thing as sending out personalized Christmas cards? You’d have no personal messages from family and friends; no winter scene artwork to decorate your home with; and no pictures of your loved ones to place on your mantle.

Holiday cards have such a way of bringing a smile to your face as you open each envelope and look to see who thought of you. It’s also great to sit down and write out messages to family and friends who you may not have seen in years…and the ones you saw last week! So even though you’d still have your holiday parties, your holiday decorating, and your holiday treats – this time of year just wouldn’t be the same without the tradition of giving and receiving those lovely personalized holiday greeting cards!

Show your Colors with Patriotic Christmas Cards

Patriotic Christmas cards seem to be a new fad in sending holiday greetings. When you first look at design #307CW, Patriotic Dove Peaceful Holiday Card, the tranquility of the beautifully embossed white dove evokes hope for peace. The leaves from the olive branch are being scattered and sent to all who recognize that America will always have peace as its ultimate goal. I particularly admire the artist’s decision to use the stars and stripes as the background. The colors support rather than overwhelm the delicately etched bird. The finely gilded border is the perfect frame. I cannot envision anyone taking offense at the theme of this personalized Christmas card design; therefore, I would send it to everyone on my list.

Corporate Christmas Cards for Our First Christmas

My husband and I recently started a new business, and we thought it would be a great way to advertise this year by sending out our first corporate Christmas cards. We knew we needed professional looking Christmas cards and at a good value. We also wanted Christmas cards that would reflect our new business. We looked through many catalogues, stopped at several greeting cards stores, and searched the Internet looking for the perfect Business Holiday Cards. Since this was going to be our first official holiday greetings, the corporate Christmas cards and the sentiment inside had to be just right.

Lucky for us, we discovered The Gallery Collection. We thought the Christmas cards on the website were beautiful, and the fact that we had several choices for the imprinted greeting really pleased us. But what really made us happy was how perfect the Christmas cards we chose suited our new business. We selected the Sparkle Bear Greetings Holiday Card design and yes, you guessed it, we are in the business of selling teddy bears. How perfect was this?!? We found a professional Christmas card design that was also adorable. This was like getting your first Christmas gift.

This corporate Christmas card design perfectly captures the essence of our business – whimsical and fun. We are certainly glad we found The Gallery Collection and look forward to ordering our business Christmas cards from them again next year. Have a Very Beary Christmas!
