Sometimes you might wonder if lawyers celebrate the holidays just like us, or do they ignore the whole holiday season and keep scheduling court cases throughout the holidays. The shows on TV usually depict lawyers doing battle in the courtroom over really big issues. That really isn’t the case in most instances.
Much of the work lawyers do is routine, depending on the type of firm they are working in. I would probably have thought this is true if I didn’t have first-hand experience. My cousin is a lawyer, and she says that they try not to schedule very much if possible from Thanksgiving all the way till New Year. But, depending on the case load and the law firm you work with, this can actually be a rather busy time, so it might be difficult to find the time to send out a Legal Holiday Card to all their clients in appreciation.
We have discussed the office politics which is similar to any other office. Depending on your seniority you may have to work some or all of the holidays depending on the clientele. At her office they have the traditional holiday party, just like everyone else who celebrates. Their office instituted a grab bag gift situation last year. The gift must be between $10-$15 dollars. A gift anyone can use, but not gift cards. This causes co-workers to become creative. It seems as though lawyers just have a bad reputation.
As a lawyer, I love your cards. This one is my favorite https://www.gallerycollection.com/product/ornate-scrolls-and-scales-holiday-card-307313.htm
