Merry Christmas Cards vs. Happy Holidays Cards

Merry Christmas cards or Happy Holidays cards?  In recent times, this has been a difficult choice for people during the holiday season. We don’t want to offend the recipient of a card, especially when your intentions are meant to be kind and genuine to begin with.  It is a good thing to be aware of what your recipient celebrates so you can be prepared.

Happy Holidays cards are a nice choice to have because they are appropriate for any holiday celebrated during the season.  This can include Chanukah, Christmas, Kwanzaa, Thanksgiving, New Years, and many others. Some people may feel that commercialization of Christmas overshadows the holiday they celebrate, so a Happy Holidays card could really mean a lot to that special someone.

Merry Christmas cards are a great thing to have on hand as well. There are plenty of folks who feel strongly about saying “Merry Christmas” rather than “Happy Holidays”.  These cards are even more appropriate if you know your co-workers, friends, or loved ones celebrate the holiday. If you’re heavily involved in your church or if you simply celebrate Christmas with your family every year then this is also a perfect choice to have on hand.

While I personally would be able to find more use from “Happy Holiday” cards, it really comes down to personal choice and lifestyle in the end.  There are many folks who would get more use out of Christmas cards, and that’s why it is a wonderful thing that we have both options to choose from!

Holiday Party Invitations Make Your Company Shine

In these days of uncertainty, when the economy is so unpredictable, it is a definite perk to clients and staff to host a holiday party.  More and more companies are downsizing their holiday celebrations, so receiving a shiny holiday invitation would be a pleasant surprise. That shiny invite would stand out from other cards they may be receiving and take priority in preparing their holiday schedule.  It is a message to your clients that you are remembering them at this special time of year, not just for their business, but for their continued trust and loyalty.

Your staff, on the other hand, will feel appreciated and have an opportunity to spend relaxed time with their fellow workers, time they do not have within their working environment. The happy excited chatter will begin when the first person opens that shiny card. As an extra bonus, both clients and employees will have a chance to meet and put a face to the voice they may speak with day after day.  I have had some of my best holidays when they were kicked off with a company holiday party.  The season seemed to take off on the right start and it began feeling festive with the sparkling lights and carols being heard in the background, where before that, the spirit of the season had not yet been felt.

To think that all that joy and good cheer began with that Shiny Company Party Invitation.

Christmas Cards from Your Doctor

Hey, what’s up Doc?  I don’t know about you but my doctor is someone I have formed a close bond with over the years.  It is someone that seems like part of the family.  I feel a connection with her that makes me feel is unbreakable.  My doctor and I share more intimated conversations than I share with almost anyone else.  When I open my mailbox during the month of December and find a Christmas card from my Doctor, I realize that I am special to her too.  The simple gesture of a card lets me know that I am not just a number.

Every year I send out photo cards of my children and I make sure one is addressed to all the doctors in our lives.  It is a great feeling when the gesture is returned.  The bond between doctor and patient is important and intimate.  A holiday card allows the patient to know he or she is appreciated and that the doctor appreciates his being faithful.  Seeing a card in the mail from my doctor shows that she is willing to take the extra time to tell me I am worth something to her.  Receiving a Christmas card from my doctor is heart warming and brings a smile to my face.  All doctors should share in this practice if they want to keep patients in their practice.

Christmas Cards from the Boss Make the Holiday Season Bright

It’s that time of year, the holiday season filled with joy and cheer. Only one problem, you are stuck at the office and not so cheery. Want a solution to this problem? An encouraging and thoughtful holiday card from your boss, which could be that perfect pick-me-up you’ve been searching for during the ladder stretch of the holiday office crunch.

Sending a card to your employees or those whom you manage is a great sentiment for several reasons. It shows that the office is not just a place of work, and that there is a sense of community amongst coworkers and management as well. A Christmas card from your boss also ensures that you as an employee are considered and appreciated for all of that hard work performed throughout the year.

An even deeper sentiment could be sent to those that do not have a large family or those who are not able to spend the holidays with them. That extra card, and the caring along with it, defines the example of a little bit going a long way. The holiday season is the time for giving and appreciation, and a card from your boss to show that you as an employee are appreciated and work in a thoughtful and healthy environment makes a terrific addition to your holiday checklist.

So the only question left is what are your options?

Calendar Cards – A Most Useful Gift

Most businesses seem to send out holiday cards every year. Years ago many businesses would send out small gifts also. These days we are feeling the crunch and what used to be is no longer practiced. We have stumbled quite accidentally on a solution. Consider this, Calendar cards are a yearlong Christmas gift.

You may scratch your head and think what the hay are you thinking? Well, there are calendar cards where you can print the company name and address, a greeting and a logo. Think about putting a clever saying that would be appropriate, such as “Wishing you prosperity throughout the Year”. Then under that the name of the company and your very own logo prominently displayed.

There are many selections to choose from. The four seasons, displaying the progression from summer through spring with leaves in bloom, falling, snow covered and then budding again. You can have a picture of the company, or even one of the employees. There is sure to be something that catches your eye.

You still haven’t realized why this is a yearlong Christmas gift. Well, the calendar attractively presented will be hung in a cubicle, an office or even a home. The recipients will all be able to know the date all the time and they can highlight the important days. We all use calendars every day, but the best part of this gift is that you will benefit from it also. Whoever receives it will have your company’s name in front of them whenever your service or product is needed. Helping your company succeed is the greatest gift of all.

Why Calendar Cards are a Wise Business Investment

Any productive business usually sends out some form of a holiday card to celebrate their relationships with their clients and customers. Calendar cards are a wise alternative that any company should consider. They are a wise business investment for any company. With a calendar card, a business is not just doing a one time advertisement, but they are making a year long lasting impression. Most of the time, once the holiday season has come to an end those gorgeous holiday cards are tossed in the trash and never seen again. Calendar cards can be displayed and referred to throughout the year making your cards a valuable commodity.

In the bottom portion of the calendar card, a company has the ability to customize the card by typesetting their company name, address, phone number, website and any other pertinent information. The company is also able to have their logo added in this area. And who doesn’t need a calendar displayed at their desk? Your customer will display this card and always remember you in their time of need. It is a one time investment that is referred to long after the holiday season ends. Calendar cards are a wise business investment.

Greeting Cards Highlights – Business Photo Cards

As the one who is in charge of ordering our cards every year, I am always challenged at to what card I choose to order. It’s not that I can’t find one I like, but quite the opposite. I find too many that I like. Therefore, it is always hard to make the final decision. I finally nailed it down to 5 designs.

Glowing Holiday Forest Card is a glossy photo of snow covered trees, set on a dark mate background.  Twinkling lights adorn the snow covered branches that gently illuminate the forest.

Lights and Bows Card has a gold embossed stamped border framing a mounted photo. This Christmas tree and holly boughs remind me of holidays of years gone by. Warm and festive, bringing thoughts of gathering family and friends close.

Christmas Welcome Wreath Card is a cream matte embossed with gold. This frames a mounted photo of a wreath adorned door. This to me declares, “Welcome – I wish you Peace and Joy!

New York City, Tribute in Light Christmas Card is a photo mounted on a white matte card stock that will forever remind me of 9/11. Not only the horror, but of the extreme acts of courage and heroism that will be etched in our hearts and minds for the rest of our lives. This beautiful tribute in lights that depict the twin towers is a befitting memorial to all the lives lost and to remind us all that some things are never to be forgotten.

Why You Should Send Personal Photo Cards

Before I started a family, I admit that I rarely sent out Christmas cards. I loved receiving them though.  Once I was married and my two children were born, I could not wait to start choosing a holiday card to send out. Personal photo cards became my cards of choice. I think there are many reasons why personalized photo cards are a wonderful idea.

My husband and I both come from large families with many relatives living out of state.  Because of the distance between us, we don’t get a chance to get together often. We don’t get the chance to see each others’ children grow up and they grow up too quickly. We wind up missing so many milestones.  Sending and receiving personal photo cards lets us see our families and friend’s families’ growing up. It really helps to keep us all in touch with each other and make us feel like we are right there with them.  I hang the photo cards that we receive up on a door so I can see them all year long.

Besides adding pictures to personalized photo cards, you can also customize the wording as well. While most of our relatives celebrate Christmas, we have some that celebrate Hanukkah. I like to be able to make sure that I send holiday wishes for any holiday that they may celebrate. This helps to ensure that no one is offended. I often prefer to customize my photo cards by wishing everyone a Happy Everything.

One of the things I look forward to the most regarding the holiday season is receiving personal photo cards. Knowing that we are in each other’s thoughts makes the holiday feel really special. I have already chosen the design that I will be sending out to those I love and I can’t wait to see who is thinking of us too.  I really recommend sending out personalized photo cards. This is the time of year that we all want to feel close to loved ones. This holiday I recommend sending out your personal holiday card and let your loved ones know that you are thinking of them.

Company Christmas Cards – To Sign or Not to Sign

If you have a staff of more than a few people does it make sense to pass each and every company Christmas card for signing? Well, the answer is yes…and no.

My husband, upon hearing this, would immediately accuse me of being deliberately obtuse. I am hedging my bets a bit but hear me out. There is usually logic, granted sometimes, hidden and a bit hard to find. It lurks in a dark recesses of my over burned brain. It can usually be found under thought about that pile of unopened mail on my kitchen table and whisper of a memory of when I was a care free youth. Ahh…but I digress. Something else I am often accused. Guilty as charged. Now back to the matter at hand.

Ok, cards should be hand signed always (unless you opt for a signature plate to be made) if you are the main act in the service industry. What do I mean by this? I mean that if you are say an insurance or financial agent and you service customer accounts and you want them to go straight to you for your insurance and financial needs then by all means, sign the Christmas cards. That personal touch goes a long way. Now there are also time when you want staff to also put their John Hancock in the sparkly pretty thing you just spent hard earned cash on to keep your name in front of your client or even patient. Say you are a dentist, doctor or lawyer. Let’s face it you staff is a key ingredient in your success and may spend more time interacting on a regular basis with your client or patient then even you do. So in this case I recommend they take the time to sign. You’d be surprised how people notice this and appreciate the time it takes.

When should you not bother to have employees sign? Well let’s face it, it takes some time and effort and if you are late in ordering and Christmas is just around the corner, I suggest the owner, manager etc sign only. Or, if you have an unusually large staff and the task become impractical. Another reason is if your work environment is messy or risks getting cards dirty etc. then it is best to leave them clean and unsigned.

I hope this helps in guiding you on who should sign your company Christmas cards. Now go find a good felt tip pen and have at it!

Christmas Cards for Your Financial Firm

My husband has been in the Financial Industry for over 30 years. He has worked for major firms in both New York and New Jersey. Ten years ago he, along with three other colleagues, started their own firm. Every year since, he has sent out Christmas cards to all of his clients to spread some holiday cheer and well wishes and to also show his appreciation for their continued business.

He has found that at The Gallery Collection there are many Christmas cards for your Financial Firm to choose from. The cards are a bright and fun way to celebrate the holiday season, and they are a nice change from the usually serious nature of their business. His clients seem to really appreciate getting the Christmas cards and each year they tell him how beautiful the cards are. You expect cards from your friends and family but not from your financial consultant. It is a nice gesture that people will definitely remember.
