What’s the difference between an E-card and actual Christmas cards that are mailed out?

An E-card can sometimes send a virus in addition to holiday greetings, which doesn’t make for much Holiday cheer whereas mailed Christmas cards leave out that added annoyance and simply wish you a more tangible Happy Holidays.
