Fun Ways to Celebrate an Office Holiday Party

We often spend more time with our co-workers than with our family (or at least it feels that way at times). So an office holiday celebration is a fun way to share the holiday spirit with our “Second Family”.

Some ideas for the Office party can include the following:

A personalized card for everyone. Maybe a candid photo of the group transformed into a special holiday memento for each person.

A grab bag. Keep to inexpensive gifts (set a $ limit) or gifts that have to be handmade. Or choose a theme for the gifts.

Make it a “pot luck” luncheon. Everyone has their holiday favorites that are family “secrets” or a special ethnic food. Imagine a party with fresh guacamole dip with tortilla chips, Greek spanokipita pie, baked manicotti and for desserts; Scottish shortbread and payasam (an Indian version of rice pudding). There could be so many new and delicious items to try!

And after the food, how about a Karaoke contest? We found at one office party that if people were anxious about venturing this alone, if they teamed up with one or two others, they were an instant “rock group”.

Whatever works for your team of friends in the office; just the time spent together sharing in a relaxed social event helps “ring the holidays in” for all.

New Year’s Cards – When You Want To Stand Out From The Holiday Crowd

New Year’s Cards are one of the most underrated cards in the market.  This is mainly because Christmas (and Chanukah during certain years), fall just 1-2 weeks before New Year’s Eve. You also have other holidays that fall within this time frame.  The New Year is a perfect time for many people to have a fresh start.  This could include their job, their diet, or their overall lifestyle. There is nothing wrong with spreading a positive message to your co-workers, clients, or loved ones to start off the New Year right!

New Year’s cards could be nice recognition for your employees, and a nice touch to start off a brand new year.  It is thoughtful, but also a unique option when compared to Christmas or Chanukah cards.  Saying “Happy New Year” is very universal and they can be perfect for folks who may not celebrate December holidays as heavily as others. There is also no reason why you can’t give a New Year’s card in addition to another holiday card. Going back to work can be stressful for some after a long holiday break, so why not cheer up your employees with a nice New Year’s greeting card?

Winter Scenes Holiday Cards Evoke Warm Memories of the Season

Throughout the holiday season, people receive many cards sending wishes for a Happy Holiday and wonderful New Year.  It is difficult to make your card the one everyone remembers.  So, in your opinion, what makes a holiday card stand out?  Winter scenes holiday cards evoke warm memories of the season.  I enjoy receiving a card that triggers something special inside. A card that makes a person feel an emotional connection ensures that that card is extra special.

Think about how you feel when you see a picture of a glittering forest lined with evergreens and a sweet deer munching on the grass. Or how do you feel when you see a picture of an old fashioned covered bridge over a running stream surrounded by snow covered, rolling hills?  Winter scenes on holiday cards like these make a person feel a comfort. It is almost like being hugged by a card. Beautiful scenic cards take you away from your current surroundings even if it is only for a moment and fill you with the warmth of the holiday season.

Sending winter scenes holiday cards also means you are sending your customers, family, and friends more than just well wishes for a bright and merry holiday season. You are also sharing with them the special feeling of coziness. You are inviting them to a little escape of relaxation and snugness. Send a card that sends a message of closeness.

Why You Should Buy Christmas Cards in Bulk

Most companies and individuals have been sending Christmas cards out to customers, friends and family for years.  Christmas cards allow you to share your appreciation to others but can add to the strain of the holiday season in many ways.  So why not consider buying your cards this year in bulk?  Buying Christmas cards in bulk has its advantages.

The greatest benefit of buying your Christmas cards in bulk is the price.  Purchasing individual cards at your local retail store can be costly. For people and businesses on a budget, this can be an expense they are not capable of spending. You will be amazed at the price difference.  Some cards in greeting establishment can cost $4.00 and up whereas you can purchase in bulk for as little as $0.76 a card. The quality of these cards can be the same quality or better but for less than half the price. That figure doesn’t even factor in the savings of gas to get to the store.  A person can purchase these cards online or over the phone and never leave their house. No matter who you are price does matter.

Another benefit of buying your Christmas cards in bulk is the stress relief. There are so many things going on during the holiday season in work and outside that time is always an issue.  A person can order these cards early in the year before the nuttiness of the season begins. Bulk Christmas cards can also be personalized with an imprint you choose. This will save you the time of personally signing each card. Buying Christmas cards in bulk is a convenient, easy way to celebrate the season with the ones that matter without breaking your budget or adding unnecessary tension.

When to Send Out Holiday Party Invitations

With the holiday season right around the corner, it is essential for the sake of your meticulously planned parties to know when to send out the invites. Whether you are planning a delicious family meal for Thanksgiving or a warm cheerful evening full of presents and caroling for Christmas, you need to make sure that all your loved ones attend.

So… how can you make sure everyone on your guest list can make it to the big celebration? When is the right time to send out your holiday party invitations??

From personal experience, you have to have a balance in the timing of your invitations giveaway, since you don’t want to be so early that your guest forget about your party later on nor so close to the date of the party (too late) that your guests already have other plans for the holidays.

I highly recommend your holiday party invitations to be sent out 6 – 8 weeks prior to the party. This way, everybody that has received your invitations will have enough time to put your event in their calendars.

Now… please don’t forget that the timing of your holiday party invitations is not the most important thing. In fact the most important aspect of your party process is HOW YOUR INVITATIONS LOOK!

An invitation could easily tell your guests what type of party you’ll be having and it can serve as a very crucial factor to captivate their interest in going. For instance, people tend to receive tons of invitations to New Years Eve celebrations; BUT if they receive yours and they see that it is impeccable and beautiful and fun, they will without a doubt assume that your party will be just as amazing.

Make sure that every single one of your guests chooses your party over any other holiday party they have been invited to. Visit www.gallerycollection.com or www.cherishables.com and let your imagination run wild! Their holiday cards and invitations will be your secret weapon to make sure that your party is as anticipated as Christmas presents!

Vertical vs. Horizontal Christmas Cards

Over the years I have received hundreds of Christmas cards from all over the world. I still can’t believe how many different types of cards there are out there. They have rectangle, square, triangle and yes even round. Who knew? The one I received was shaped like a wreath. Oh it was so pretty. Although I love all the cards I get, I really like the vertical cards the best. They all stand up so nicely on my table and mantle. I have more room to display the vertical vs. the horizontal Christmas Cards. This year I may even have to add a few cards to my entry way. It seems I get more and more cards every year. I look forward to opening them and seeing who they’re from. I get pictures in most of them, from family and friends. (How fast everyone grows up).

This year I ordered four different style Christmas cards from the Gallery Collection. They have such a wonderful assortment of cards. And yes, I ordered all vertical cards. You just cannot beat the quality of their cards. I feel they show that I put a lot of thought into sending out my cards. And they are reasonably priced. Have you seen the cost of store bought cards these days? Gees! They are so expensive. With Gallery Collection cards, I get to add a special touch to my cards and I add my own special message to each one. Since I use the vertical cards, I have plenty of room to let everyone know what I’ve been up to this past year. I can’t wait!
