It’s a Digital World But Personalized Holiday Cards Still Matter

It’s simple to send out a “Happy Holidays” text or email to all your family, friends, or business colleagues, but in a world of instant digital gratification, the personalized holiday card still wins out. The holiday card shows you actually care enough to take the time, put pen to paper, and connect on a more personal level.

Think about this for a moment. How many times have you received anything handwritten in the mail in the last decade? A personalized holiday card is a tangible item reminding us that someone was thinking of you. It’s keepsake to cherish and display – unlike the text or email buried in your inboxes.

So what makes these personalized holiday cards special? I’d break it down to 3 things. First, it’s the effort of dedicating time to write the message and show you actually value the recipient. Second, the personalization factor by being able to share a memory or joke and express gratitude with a meaningful personal message. Lastly, uniqueness in the sense that a tangible holiday card is such a change of pace compared to all the digital messages we are bombarded with today that become simply noise.

My suggestion would be for this holiday season to ditch the mass digital messages and connect with colleagues, clients, and loved ones on a more personal level by sending them a personalized holiday card. A small gesture that I promise will make a large impact. It will also remind them of how they are valued and appreciated.
