When you are feeling stressed or unhappy at work you might not think of how to get out of the doldrums. You might just be in need of a change in you workspace. It might be time for some new visuals or decorations. You can place things on your cubicle wall that will make you take a second or a deep breath and remember a moment. Giving you pause to change your mindset and take a mental break. Maybe a holiday is coming or the seasons are changing. It really picks me up when I make a few changes to my workspace. Some favorite things can become ideas to decorate your cubicle. There are pictures of family, friends and neighbors that bring you to a happy space. It doesn’t matter whether they are nearby or far away. Some pictures taken during a holiday celebration, or a very special wedding perhaps! Some of the best pictures are those where you catch someone off guard. One of my favorite all time fun decorations are drawings by my children, and the children of some of my co-workers. It really is adorable and funny for office co-workers and also anyone visiting the office to see such colorful items tacked to the walls and given such a prominent spot. What can you think of to break the spell of a dull day???
I have pictures of my grand-kids hanging in my cubicle, I love looking at them smiling. They always brighten my day
I have a nice framed photo of my entire family next to my desk monitor. My son also got me some vintage Star Wars action figures for my birthday (yes – I’m one of those nerds) that I display proudly. Always seems like a better day with some cubicle decorations rather than a plain, boring workplace.
Hmmm not sure I’d want leaves all over my desk, but I did get some of my own office supplies, a colorful calendar and I have pictures hanging. You need to make it your own since you spend so much of your time at work (sadly).
The feature picture of the decorated office cubicle is a bit much don’t you think? I surround my cubicle with family pictures that make me smile, and cards I’ve received from co-workers that I think
are lovely to look at.
Having a personal touch added to your desk helps. I brought tons of photos in for mine.
Took me three months to finally personalize my new workspace. Wish I did it sooner! helps having some cheer!
Pictures of friends and family always make me smile, but a silly cartoon comic is sure to brighten my mood. A small office plant such as a succulent is a great touch for a little greenery without going overboard!
Personalizing your workspace makes it a lot easier to sit there all day long. Bring in photos, plants, things that make it feel like a second home. You spend so much time at your desk, might as well have what you like.
Hmm not too sure about that decor in the photo. Seems kinda messy and distracting to me, but hey, if it makes you happy and gets you working…
I love putting up pictures of my two daughters up on my cubicle. During those stressful times at work its nice to look at them and proceed my day with a smile! 🙂
While setting up your cubical is fun and makes you feel at home, you shouldn’t over due it. Too much stuff on/in your cubicle can be distracting to both you and your co-workers around you.
